About this program…
The Morab Horse Association is the first and only registry to vote on the breed standard of the Morab.
With many different interpretations of what is a purebred Morab, MHA members voted that a Morab must contain only documented pure Morgan and Arabian bloodlines (no undocumented or unknown portions) to be considered a purebred Morab. Morabs within MHA must remain within the 25% - 75% breed standard, meaning a Morab that is 25% Arabian must then be 75% Morgan, or vice versa.
There are Morabs registered outside MHA that have undocumented lineage. In order to find a place for these horses while maintaining the high and purebred standards of the MHA purebred registry,
the members voted to provide a part bred, or Appendix, registry for these
horses and the offspring of Morab-to-other-breed crosses. This allows people to be involved with the Morab breed while not sacrificing the purity of the Morab within MHA. Part bred Morabs are NOT allowed to "breed up" to purebred status, and any get will remain within the part bred registry, if eligible for part bred registration.
If you have a part bred Morab you would like to register, click here for side 1 and here for side 2 of the registration application. Send completed application and $30 fee (make check out to Morab Horse Association)
to the business address on the application form.
If you need help determining your horse's eligibility for this classification, or if you
have comments or questions about the appendix registry, submit your
information below and you will be contacted by the MHA Registrar, or you
may email registrar@morabs.com
